Tie Break In Monaghan For Danny And Ambrose

On the opening three tests Danny and Ambrose had a good run in the JB Homes Mitsubishi Evo 8 and ended the loop leading Group N by one second from Sam Moffett after setting a string of fastest times in Group N.

Through stage four Danny was quickest again by ten seconds but lost time on stages five and six to Moffett when he upped his pace during the second loop. When Danny arrived back to service he had a lead of twenty one seconds with three stages remaining.

On the final loop of stages Danny lost his lead to a hard charging Sam Moffett with the two crews tied on 1.27.26 as they arrived at the finish. Unfortunately for Danny and Ambrose the tie break rules states that “fastest on the last stage wins” so they had to settle for second in Group N and 8th overall.
